Selecting the correct image sizes for each social media platform is important…from chopping off heads to displaying…well…not very much at all, a sizing faux pas could mean the difference between an ‘ooh, what’s that’ and a scroll on by.

Profile picture dimensions: 400px x 400px

Cover photo dimensions: 1500px x 500px

Post dimensions: 1024px x 512px

Twitter may collapse your photo into a smaller version to fit in a user’s stream. So make sure you centre your content to avoid cropping and set the width of your image to the minimum requirements.

• Minimum to appear expanded 440 x 220 pixels (a 2:1 ratio).
• Can tweet up to 4 images at one time.
• Maximum to appear expanded 1024 x 512 pixels.
• Appears in stream collapsed at 506 x 253 pixels on desktop.

Facebook:

Profile picture dimensions: 180px x 180px

Profile cover photo dimensions: 820px x 312 px

Event cover photo dimensions: 1920px x1080px

Post dimensions: 1200px x 630px

• Recommended upload size of 1,200 x 630 pixels.
• Will appear in feed at a max width of 470 pixels (will scale to a max of 1:1).
• Will appear on page at a max width of 504 pixels (will scale to a max of 1:1).

Instagram:

Profile picture dimensions: 110px x 110px

Post dimensions: 161px x 161px (thumbnail), 320px x 1080px (portrait) or 1080px x1080px (landscape)

LinkedIn:

Company profile picture dimensions: 300px x 300px

Company cover photo dimensions: 1536px  x 768px

• Recommended between 1536 x 768 pixels.
• Minimum size of 1192 x 220.
• Appears as 1400 x 425 pixels.

Personal profile picture dimensions: 400px x 400px

Personal cover photo dimensions: 1584px  x 396px
